Trepidation: "A feeling of fear or agitation about something that may happen"
Easily the cruelest start to any map I've played on the channel so far. Debatably the hardest map I've played overall. I really wanted to give it a 9 in difficulty but I think I'll keep it as the gatekeeper of the top of 8.5. This map is tight on every resource, it is completely filled with enemies in every possible path you could take, and your best tool to clear them for the first several minutes is the chainsaw. If you don't use the chainsaw, you will run out of ammo. So the best option is to hack through a whole bunch of lost souls and spectres with the chainsaw and very little health, while being pelted with projectiles from all angles. I tried to just rush the first whole area, but you have to take the time to clear at least a few things while you're there or it makes the trek back to get the BFG even harder. That first area is definitely the hardest part of the map, but it does not get easier from there. The rest of the map still requires precision and skilled movement. There are only enough cells to clear a few selective groups with the BFG, and creating those opportunities to use it are usually not free either and require some planning. I am very thankful that the Cyberdemon is telefragged because it would be horrible to dismantle that encounter manually. I also heavily recommend telefragging that other baron guarding the switch to the blue armor, just go around the backside and to the secret teleporter and it wont wake up. I would love to see this route optimized further. This took me 4-5 hours and had me up late into the night.
This midi is another very fitting one. That violin immediately told me "you are so fucked right now and you don't even know it" upon starting the map... or in other words, a feeling of Trepidation.
