UVMax World Record

These just keep getting harder. This map is no joke, fitting for an episode closer. I spent a ton of time on this. I really wanted under 10, but I cannot bring myself to make another attempt after grinding through this for 5 hours. The cyberdemon room is a very creative, and very mean fight. It is a true test of your spatial awareness, reaction speed, and precise maneuvering. You have to flip 4 switches and shoot 6 sigil eyes while running around that room dodging cyberdemon missiles, projectiles from every other enemy type, random crushers all over, barrels, and all with a partial invisibility. The invis is good for starting a lot of infighting, but does also mean you could randomly die at any moment from a stray projectile. That cyberdemon is your biggest threat, and your biggest friend. He is the workhorse that plows the field of never ending flesh pouring into the room that you do not have the ammunition to deal with yourself. The caged barons are a huge pain and you really want him to kill most of them. The first 2 rooms can be grouped together into one big fight, and if you clear all that, it gets significantly easier from there as long as you have some good resources left. The final room with the gateway is not much of a threat due to the invuln. It is more annoying than anything since all the cacodemons are a chore to kill behind the fence. I had an attempt that would've been around a 9:30 exit but one of the secrets didn't tag earlier in the map and I just about had a meltdown trying to recreate it for another 3 hours. Seems my luck is not there for now.
The map looks great though, especially the final room. The combat design and map layout is all very impressive work, some of Paul's best for sure. I am really looking forward to seeing what the Sigil episode has in store, since I would've been completely satisfied if it had just ended here.
