Hyundai updated the popular Kona EV with some bold visual changes
The changes are mostly cosmetic, both inside and out.
Powertrain options are unchanged.
Interior gets new larger displays and extra tech.
Normally, an automaker will want to stretch news about their products over a certain period of time. Hyundai, on the other hand, has shared more product information in three days than most OEMs do in a month’s time. For this round, we get a good look at the facelifted 2022 Kona EV.
The most evident is the front fascia which was already quite unique. For this round, any semblances to an actual grille have been removed in favour of a clean uniform design, or nearly. As Electrek points out, the very visible cut-out for the charge port blemishes the otherwise modern look that includes new thinner LED daytime running lights and headlights.
The cabin is upgraded with extra tech in the form of an available 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster that can be paired with an option 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen. As well, a slew of new active safety features will become available such as Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA), and others.
