This is the Classic Mode of Reforged and what would be the campaign mode of Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne.

Chapter Eight and finale of the Terror of the Tides Campaign.

Illidan and Malfurion join forces to find and rescue Tyrande who had been swept downriver into Undead territory. Though they have been at odds with each other and Malfurion had disavowed their brotherhood, it was the first opportunity for them to finally converse properly after the defeat of the Burning Legion. Their brotherly bonds had remained quite intact despite everything when it came to the woman they both love.

Illidan's naga quickly return with a report that their scouts have found Tyrande's location downstream where she had set up a small encampment with the assistance of a few night elves that regrouped with her. However, the Undead forces were vast and held air superiority, making it unfeasible for Malfurion to send aerial forces to Tyrande's rescue. But Malfurion remains undeterred and asks Illidan to stave off the Undead as he goes downriver.

Illidan counters Malfurion's plan with his own, arguing that he and his naga could traverse the river and reach Tyrande faster. Though Malfurion has little reason to trust his brother, Illidan swears on his own life that he would bring Tyrande back. Illidan's treacheries in Malfurion's eyes had been many, but when it came to Tyrande, Malfurion believed he could trust his brother's words. Malfurion wishes his brother victory in battle before they return to their respective bases.

As Illidan's forces scout more of the river, they discover a dam obstructing it that could allow their forces to move faster if removed. Forest trolls and other unfriendly creatures dwell in the area and were quickly eliminated to take control of the area and remove the dam, granting Illidan's forces a faster route to the Undead bases that stood between them and Tyrande.

Malfurion was not idle either during as Illidan's forces sped along the river. On the other side of the river, Malfurion's night elves withstood attacks from the Undead and launched an attack of their own to destroy the Undead base on their side of the river.

Attacked from both sides, the Undead were unable to keep the two brothers back and Illidan's forces advanced to Tyrande's location. Having last parted on hostile terms, Tyrande believed Illidan had come to finish her off when he arrived. With time running short, Illidan tells Tyrande he is there to rescue her and bade her to step into the portal he created to escape to safety.

At the same time, Malfurion paces back and forth nervously, fear and doubt on his mind when Illidan had not returned with Tyrande as fast as he was expecting them to. When Illidan and Tyrande emerge from the portal safe from the encroaching Undead, Tyrande expresses disbelief that Illidan, who she had believed to have turned to evil, would come to her rescue. Illidan explains that he would always look out for Tyrande no matter what he becomes, a sign of his undying love for her.

Having noticed their arrival, Malfurion quickly rushes to Tyrande, and together they voice their relief as they reunite. Malfurion recognizes that Illidan's aid was critical to the rescue of his love, and gives him due credit for his assistance. Illidan takes the opportunity to talk, seeing his brother now as being open to discussion. Though the brothers have quarreled for ages, Illidan wishes to see their conflict end peacefully and put aside the hate he felt for Malfurion after being imprisoned for so long.

Malfurion continues that Illidan cannot be forgiven for all that he has done, but in his heart he has forgiven Illidan perhaps, and says that he will let Illidan go, after having believed it necessary to see Illidan executed when he had been deceived by Maiev. However, he leaves Illidan a stern warning that no mercy would be shown should he ever do anything that would threaten the night elves. Illidan assuages his brother that he had no such designs and only sought power and magic, not lordship over the world.

With time running short, Illidan explains that he must not linger and had angered his new master by assisting Malfurion, and hurriedly opens a portal to escape. Illidan bids Malfurion and Tyrande farewell before he runs in. Maiev quickly blinks in and chides Malfurion and Tyrande for letting Illidan go as she chases continues her pursuit with the portal still open. Tyrande calls out that Illidan had atoned, but Malfurion replies that Maiev had become vengeance itself and was beyond saving.

The game is far from fixed both in being playable and its reputation, but I'd like to share how the state of things are in late 2022.
