2024 F1 QATAR GP Qualifying by Peter Windsor
McLaren-Mercedes finished one-two (make that two-one!) in the Sprint race at Qatar on Saturday - but it was Red Bull's Max Verstappen who took a superb pole position in qualifying for Sunday's Grand Prix. Mercedes' George Russell, who finished third in the Sprint, starts alongside Max; the two McLaren-Mercedes are on row two, followed by Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), Sir Lewis Hamilton in the other factory Mercedes and Carlos Sainz in the other Ferrari. In this video Peter offers his explanation of Max's sudden turnaround and analyses the results of the finish line and speed trap figures.
