2025 INFINITI QX80 reimagines the luxury SUV
26The 2025 INFINITI QX80 is a game-changer in the world of large luxury SUVs. Passengers have a lot to enjoy, but the driving experience has seen significant improvements too. The previous 5.6-liter V-8 engine has been swapped out for a more powerful twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 engine, which delivers 450 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. This is a considerable step up from its predecessor. Power is delivered to the wheels through a new 9-speed automatic gearbox, with the choice of directing it to either the rear wheels or all four. The vehicle's structure is now 57 percent more rigid side-to-side, compared to the previous model. Plus, when the SUV is fitted with the air ride suspension, it can lower itself by 1.2 inches at higher speeds to enhance efficiency and by 2.8 inches to make entering and exiting the vehicle easier.
The QX80 is set to make its first appearance to the public at the 2024 New York International Auto Show and will be available for purchase in the U.S. by the end of this summer.
