Online ranked 1v1 Ladder Matches on Command & Conquer Remastered Collection - Red Alert (No commentary).

7 matches here as I try to climb up the leaderboard. My lasts session was ok, I pretty much ended up where I started. This session I face players just players that I am ranked ranked higher than on the leaderboard so it's a good opportunity to get back to winning ways.

Match 1:
Ah well this was a bad start to the session. This map is probably the map I've changed my strategy on the most. My most successful strategy on this map was to go immediately for a 2 war factory all in light tank rush. But top players seemed to be able to counter it and I'm trying to improve my overall game and play more like the top players. Most top players seem to do the strategy I tried here but I feel like it is susceptible to a tank rush when my opponent moves to the center like what happened here. I've lost quite a few times on this map to players ranked lower than me when I've moved between my ore patches and my opponent moves to the middle. I think I need to scout if my opponent has moved to the center and go for a 2 war factory all in in response and rush them, because I lose too often against players I think I should be beating when I see a tank rush coming on this map and I try to defend it. I just don't think I have the time to build enough pillboxes with the rush distance being so small.

Match 4:
I took too long to start building my second refinery here, and then I took too long to realise that my opponent had moved towards the gems. I cancelled my refinery and built a second war factory at that point but I needed to do it earlier as after I sold my con yard, I didn't have enough tanks to overwhelm my opponent who was mining gems in the middle. If I had started building my second refinery on time I might have let it finish rather than cancelling it and that might have helped. I definitely need to check on my scouts earlier in the future as I think a 2 war factory all in will usually beat a player who moves to the middle on this map as they shouldn't have enough to defend with when it strikes.

I lost quite a few points and places here so not a particularly good session. Sessions like these kinda make me want to go back to doing more 2 war factory all ins. They are very strong on most maps (including both the maps I lost on here) and they tend to work well against more unorthodox builds. But having said that, I still should have scouted better in both defeats and I could have switched to a 2 war factory build in both those matches after scouting that my opponent had moved. So maybe I just need react better to the information available.
