Get ready for the ULTIMATE tower defense onslaught. In this sci-fi adventure, you are going to build, deploy, research and upgrade your defenses.
So, set 100 years in the future, this game proposes to battle inter-dimensional flesh spawn across the solar system and to defend Earth's colonies from complete annihilation.
The pace is steady, but the stakes are high as the relentless hordes amass in an effort to overrun your mobile command center.
Unlike traditional Tower Defense games, you will be relying heavily on micro-managing dynamic action-based abilities. As you progress deeper into the campaign, you will see that airstrikes, charged attacks, fortification walls and the tactical drone will become increasingly vital and that deploying them strategically will be very important for your victory.
Mistakes won't go unpunished so let's try and stay frosty, to learn from our blunders and to endure to fight another day. Without pain there can be no gain right?
The campaign of this game is going to test your skills. The battlefield is an unforgiving landscape and every second counts. Beginners should rather play first on normal mode. And when they are really used to the game and know how to manage for good all micro-management strategies then they can try the brutal challenge of hard mode. When you’re ready it’s time to put your skills to the test in the survival mode. How long can you hold back the hordes? That only depends on your skills.
So this is a game where you burn, blast and obliterate everything. Deploy the machine gun, flame thrower, artillery and plasma turrets to destroy your foes. Upgrade your towers to their experimental stages packing serious firepower and charged attacks.
And when the situation gets too dangerous you’ll be relying on air support. The airstrike and tactical drone will deliver the big airborne demolition you need as well as defensive abilities.
Note that you have to make a lot of research to get easier victories. Earth’s engineers are working tirelessly to gain the upper hand against the new enemy. You will unlock new abilities and weapons as you progress in the campaign.
There is a soldier’s dictionary. The tactical database gathers data on the battlefield about your arsenal and enemies alike. Be sure to check it often as it will be critical to your triumph against the hordes.
Let's talk about the beautifully illustrated environments and graphics. The 2112TD’s artistic style is founded on the nostalgia of the Real Time Strategy golden era, paying homage to games like Command and Conquer and StarCraft. I find the artworks magnificent and level design incredibly impressive. Animations are slick and stylish. The user interface is jaw dropping. Overall, the game's graphics are wonderful.
The sound effects are fantastic. The background music awesome. Overall, the game's audio is fantastic.
Controls are smooth and intuitive.
The game experience is fun, it can be hard sometimes but overall, the gameplay is really fun and addictive. The tactical drone is a literal life saver, and watching the bullets whizz around delivering destruction is amazingly compulsive. This is competitive a lot of times because you absolutely want to beat the Artificial Intelligence!
The fun is in figuring out a strategy for each stage and timing your special abilities and turret upgrades just right. You feel a great pay-off when it all comes together. It is so satisfying when you achieve it. The gameplay is quite different from all Tower Defense games you have ever played, be prepared for it.
My first impressions on 2112TD are excellent. I highly recommend you to try it. It costs 2 dollars in the Google Play Store.
