Un beau jour, un mystérieux vortex est apparu dans le ciel de la planète Pop, aspirant tout ce qui se trouvait à sa portée... y compris Kirby ! Lorsqu'il reprend connaissance, notre héros se retrouve dans un nouveau monde, où la nature se mêle aux ruines d'une civilisation disparue. Il découvre alors que les Waddle Dees ont été capturés par un groupe malveillant qui se fait appeler la meute des bêtes.
Avec son étrange nouvel ami Elfilin à ses côtés, Kirby se met en quête de sauver tous les Waddle Dees et de retrouver le chemin de sa planète !
