#223 Porter Idaho part 1
1,471This week Frank and Sharon hire a chopper to go to remote high altitude mines called the Prosperity and Porter Idaho near Stewart BC. The mine had a 5 mile tram to the Portland canal and closed in 1931.
We are thinking about going back and removing the rest of the tram so we can rebuild an operating tram. Almost all of them have been collapsed or destroyed by mining companies. I would like to rebuild one so people can see a working tram.
We have explored hundreds of mines all over north America. Going places nobody else would dare to go. We do this for two main reasons. First to document the mines for future generation. Mines are being filled in and collapsing at an alarming rate. Second to collect artifacts for our museum. The museum is open to the public and we don't charge an admission.
