I'm really stunned how much of the catacombs is so barren. There's just sort of a weird dead end at one point and I'm not really sure if there's any details there I've really missed besides the pool of lava that I can't cross. The Irithyll Dungeon is a weird place full of surprises. I genuinely was not expecting to see enemies that dropped my max HP, and this place is full of enemies that are hard in numbers, but easy individually and difficult to get around.
