2950X - Unraid Gaming VM Build - Benchmarks - Shadow of the Tomb Raider (Part 12)
I have been asked questions about performance and frames when running my VMs and what kind of performance impact I'm seeing from Bare Metal. Well of course there is performance Impact. My Hardware boots Unraid and for these tests I have dedicated 2 Cores and 4 Threads from my Second CPU die to Unraid. The Other 14 Dies and 28 Threads I have dedicated to this Massive windows VM. So right there I am losing 4 threads from Bare Metal when running CPU tests. I do have the CPU overclocked to 4.25Ghz all core locked. Which helps some.
I am using OBS inside the same Windows VM to screen record the action. So also take into account the performance hit of OBS and that I am running 4 active monitors with monitoring software active as well.
To sum everything up, performance is decent even with the loss. Im happy.
