When you watch a great bass player playing a groove or taking a solo, there's often a lot more going on than meets the eye! I'm sure you've experienced this before - you're watching a bass player, you're hearing a lot of notes, but the fingers of the bass players plucking hand don't seem to be playing as many notes as you're hearing!

This happens when the bass player is using a combination of hammer-ons, pull-offs, and more often than not there's some raking involved too.
