3 Ways to Stop Crashes in Project 1999
Project 1999 EverQuest sometimes struggles to play nice with current hardware and software. Here are three solutions to some of the common freezes, crashes and stutters that may cause a corpse run.

0:55 | Step 1 - Set compatability and run as administrator
1.) Locate your EQ directory
2.) Find 'eqgame.exe'
3.) Right click 'eqgame.exe' and select Properties
4.) Check the box next to 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:'
5.) Select 'Windows XP (Service Pack 2)' from the drop down
6.) Under 'Settings' below, check 'Run this program as an admnistrator'
7.) Press 'Apply' or 'Okay'

1:46 | Step 2 - Run EverQuest on a single CPU core
1.) Open a web browser and use the link above to go to the Project 1999 Wiki's 'Players: Technical / Affinity' article
2.) On your desktop, right click and select text document from 'New'
3.) Save the file as 'A_Run_Everquest.bat', making sure to select "All files" under the 'Save as Type'. DO NOT leave it as a text file. It will not run.
4.) Copy the contents from the 'Players: Technical / Affinity' page
5.) Open your EQ directory
6.) Copy the EQ directory path and paste it over the 'C:\EQLite' found on the 'SET _AppFolder' line
7.) Enter the number of CPU cores you have at line 'SET /a _MaxCPU'. If you don't know, press 'Ctrl' + 'Alt' + 'Del'. Select the 'Performance' tab, then CPU. It states the number of your cores underneath the graph.
8.) Save the file
9.) Place the file in your EQ directory
10.) Open the game by clicking on the 'A_Run_Everquest.bat' file

1.) Open a web browser and navigate to the Dege dgVoodoo 2 link above
2.) Download the latest stable version (v2.7.9 in this video)
3.) Create a temporary folder on your desktop
4.) Extract the contents of the zip folder into the desktop folder
5.) Open your EQ directory
6.) Copy 'dgVoodooCpl' into your EQ directory
7.) Open the 'MS' folder from the dgVoodoo folder on the desktop
8.) Open 'x86'
9.) Copy files from inside 'x86' to your EQ directory
10.) In the EQ directory, double click dgVoodooCpl
11.) Under dgVoodoo's 'General' tab select your graphics card from the 'Adapter(s) to use / enable' drop down
12.) Under ' Appearance' choose whether you play in Fullscreen or Windowed
13.) Select the 'DirectX' tab
14.) Set your VRAM to something your graphics card can support
15.) Uncheck 'dgVoodoo Watermark' unless you want it (sorry Dege!)
