Super Mario Kart was the beginning of a new venture for Mario and friends. Though I am very fond of this game and have played it a ton during my childhood, it’s not without it’s faults and frustration too. While the game is beautifully designed and possesses a ton of creativity, cool ideas, and great music, some of the imperfections with the aggressive CPU racers, in-game jank, and in some cases, poor track design, can easily make this a very irritating experience, especially when compared to the modern Mario Kart series which truly has come a long way.
This episode we will be playing through Super Mario Kart in an effort to earn the gold on all cups and engine classes. Of course, we’ll be taking on Retro Achievements for additional challenges which include winning 1ST Place in every race, finding shortcuts on certain tracks, and performing tricks on certain tracks as well. We’ll start out with 50cc and 100cc as a warm up because what comes next is sure to cause intense roadrage!
