The Old NDS DOSBOX, SNES9x, QUICKNES, STELLA, standalone Homebrews DO play old DOS, PC, COMMODORE AMIGA C64 SEGA etc games very well, no stuttering, perfect audio. Via R4 CF.
The same applies to ALL NES, GBA, SNES, MASTER SYSTEM, MEGADRIVE, ATARI 2600, COLECO, ATARI 800. Only N64 and PSX are better on the NEW and OLD 3DS.
The OLD and NEW 3DS has problems emulating almost every single platform except the newest emulations engines that runs PS1 and PS2, or maybe SATURN, NEOGEO, WII, GAMECUBE.
Consoles that were anyway of superior hardware to the old NDS, NDSi, NDS XL.
So if you are after a good emulation console, remember that the old NDS do a BETTER JOB at emulating than the 3DS.
Some says that the NEW 3DS is a better HW at emulating, but since the 3DS is ALREADY a BETTER HW, and run emulators WORSE than OLD NDS, I don't see where this can be true... EXCEPT N64, just about everything I tested run perfect on old NDSi, and has problems on the 3DS... Judge for yourself...
