RADOMIAK RADOM
Legia Warsaw have been the dominant force in Polish football in recent years,
Legia have won five of the last six league titles, but just five wins from their opening 19 games have opened the door for a changing of the guard.
Radomiak Radom’s ambitions were a little bit more moderate this season after coming back to the Ekstraklasa for the first time in 36 years
However, after 19 games they are in 4th, only 6 points away from 1st place.
Their strength is in defence, where they have only conceded 16 goals and had only 2 losses from 19 games
Your challenge will be to try to win the Ekstraklasa with a team that have not been rated fairly by EA.
Instead of being 4th best, this team is rated as the 4th worst in the entire league.
With very little cash you’ll have to scramble to see if you can compete at the level they are in real life.
Built around a solid Polish core with a strong Samba flavour (there are four players from Portugal and Brazil in the squad), Radomiak have the tools to suit managers who like structure, good defending and causing a few upsets.
SHEFFIELD UNITED
Of the three sides relegated to the Sky Bet Championship for this season, Sheffield United undoubtedly pose the most interesting FM challenge.
The Blades fell victim to ‘second season syndrome’ last time out, the playing style that made them so attractive on their long-awaited return to the big time suddenly too readable and ineffective.
The Yorkshire club have had a busy summer with several players coming to and going from Bramall Lane but the likes of Sander Berge and Rhian Brewster highlight the quality still at their disposal.
When taking charge, will you opt for a new playing system altogether or prove the merits of the three at the back approach, especially now that the Wide Centre-Back role they arguably popularised is now at your disposal.
Whatever route you choose, the aim is simple. Ensure that their absence from the top tier is far shorter than the 12 years it was last time.
1.FC KÖLN
While perhaps best known for their mascot, an actual Goat, and their related nickname, what you may not know is that 1. FC Köln were historically one of Germany’s bigger clubs, winning the Bundesliga twice and the DfB Pokal on four occasions.
However, they haven’t won a domestic trophy since 1983
In recent years have been a bit of a yo-yo side, generally too good for the 2. Bundesliga but lacking the depth to stay in the Bundesliga for multiple seasons.
The 2021-22 campaign marks their third in a row at the top level, though, and it seems to us that they have the quality in their squad to push up the table.
Your attack is strong, with Mark Uth, Anthony Modeste and Sebastian Andersson, while Ondrej Duda and captain Jonas Hector serious international experience every club needs.
The future looks bright too, with young full-back Noah Katterbach and wide player Jan Thielmann showing bags of potential.
While you probably will not be challenging for the title in your first season, you should have all the tools to take 1. FC Köln to the next level and begin filling up the trophy cabinet at the RheinEnergieSTADION.
Club legend Lukasz Podolski is still in the game for what will likely be his final season, so see if you can retire with him and lead Koln back to winning the Bundesliga.

Jonathan Iglesias might be small, but he offers leadership and intelligence in the middle of the park, while Mohamed Bayo and Elbasan Rashani have all the Attributes to form a prolific striking partnership.
