4-Player LTTP Race Part 7 (Final)
The race is at long last over. The winner takes it by a landslide, but perhaps more interesting was the ambiguity of who actually placed 2nd here. Technically, JB managed to pull five crystals and get farther in the game than Josh (just by a wee bit), but Josh had a full item screen and more Heart Containers than JB did. I didn't see any other way to resolve it besides to tie them for 2nd. Meanwhile, Death takes down Al Gore and invents his own internet.
I must say I was pretty impressed with JB"s comeback in the last few parts. He pretty much sailed through the Dark World and lest we forget, outdid the two of us against Helmasaur. It seemed at first that Josh was the clear shoe-in for 2nd place until he had some bad luck against Mothula and Blind, and of course the magic hold-up at Misery Mire. But that was kind of an unexpected twist.
This is indeed my fastest run of LTTP to date. I've yet to try it again since the night we recorded this. I've had better fights against Agahnim at the top, but it could have gone a lot worse. I was actually worried about dying at Ganon, things got pretty close there. There are some neat tricks you can do in Ganon's Castle, but most of them just didn't work out for me. In the warp segment, you can skip the last two warps by deliberately taking damage and using your invisibility frames to bypass the warp, which is what I was trying to do there. Dashing into the pot to bypass the dark room with the lamp is one of my favorite short cuts in the game, but of course I had to balls that one up too. Haha, I half expected the door to shut behind me when I left the room to try it again. Oh well.
All in all, we had us a good time. Here's hoping the rumors of a LTTP remake come to pass!
