Kommandant (4 Player Warmachine) 2022 Rules

Armies are 25 points with no restrictions, themes allowed.

The scenario is set up with a 12 inch diameter circle in the center of the board, which can be scored starting on round 2, at the end of any turn in which a player has at least one model in the zone and no other player does. There is also a flag in each quadrant, that is 18 inches from each respective board edge, which can only be scored by opponents that have a model base to base with it while there is no enemy model within 4 inches of the flag, but once this occurs the flag is removed. Finally a player can score a point by destroying an opponent’s caster(s). A player wins if they get 3 control points or if they have the most control points after 7 turns.

There is a killbox that is in effect starting on round 2 with the following rules: if a caster ends it's activation completely within 12 inches of a board edge they take 5 damage that cannot be mitigated by Focus/Fury/Essence, and they can not be healed for a round. This killbox increases by 2 inches each round, meaning it is 14 inches on turn 3, 16 inches on turn 4, and so on. In addition, starting on round 2, if a player ends their turn and they don't have at least one model in the center zone their caster takes 5 damage that cannot be mitigated by Focus/Fury/Essence, and they can not be healed for a round.

To start the game, players roll off to see who goes first and the players position themselves around the board clockwise in descending order. Before deployment each player (starting with the first player) puts two terrain pieces that are no larger than 6 inches in their quadrant of the board, but they can't be touching a scenario piece. Then all regular deployment models are placed within 12 inches of their respective corner (starting with the first player). After this, Advanced Deployment models are added within 18 inches of their respective corner.

Ambushers can come in from either of the board edges of your quadrant.

Killing the caster makes the battlegroup go automatous rather than inert, wild, or removed from the game.

Note that collaboration and deal making is allowed and encouraged!
