In today's video, we piece together a frankenstein rig from some old server pieces, some used stuff, some stuff I had, and a couple new pieces. This Xeon e3 1230-v2 interested me, it's basically like an i7 3770 but 100 mhz lower. Knowing it would't be suited for a high refresh rate test, I wanted to try it in a 'high-end' gaming scenario - 4K. With 4K gaming, the graphics card is the bottleneck typically, so I thought this would give our chip a fighting chance. Paired with a GTX 1080ti, it held up surprisingly well, dropping only a few frames in the most demanding titles.
