5 Reasons Team Fortress 2 Needs A Sequel Right Now
Team Fortress 2 is an incredible first person shooter developed by Valve, but it's not been shown very much love in recent years. It's a crying shame because this is an innovative FPS that laid the groundwork for hero shooters like Overwatch and Valorant, popularised the "free to play" model that changed gaming forever, and still boasts a passionate community of players.
While we'd love for Valve to continue supporting Team Fortress 2, what if we got a sequel instead? Team Fortress 3, anyone?! Valve has always been reluctant to complete a trilogy - with Half Life 2 still awaiting Half Life 3, and Portal 3 a pipe dream for Portal 2 fans - but perhaps the Team Fortress series could be the perfect opportunity to finally bring out the big three...
Here are 5 reasons why we think Team Fortress 2 needs a sequel!
Team Fortress 2 is a multiplayer FPS game first released in 2007 as part of The Orange Box for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 (PS3). It was eventually released as a standalone game in 2008, before becoming free to play in 2011. The game is a sequel to the 1996 Team Fortress mod for Quake and its 1999 remake Team Fortress Classic.
In the game, players take part in a variety of game modes (like Capture The Flag, Payload, and King of the Hill) and choose one of nine different characters: Heavy Weapons Guy, Engineer, Scout, Soldier, Pyro, Demoman, Medic, Sniper, and Spy.
