đâ€ă"Bite-Sized Cookies" - Another Mario WorldăăSquiggy's ROM Hack Rompă(SMW ROM Hack Commentary)
Hey friends! In today's episode we mess around with one of my favourite glitches, scrolling the screen to fill all available sprite slots with Sumo Bros lightning.
This glitch works because of three things coming together in beautiful Super Mario World glitchiness. First, the lightning doesn't check for collisions when the screen is scrolling, so if you scroll the screen as the lightning hits the ground it will pass right through it. Second, lightning also doesn't despawn at the bottom of the screen, it instead wraps the Y coodinate around to the highest number, making it fall from a million miles in the air. Third, and finally, the lightning is a "persistent sprite" that doesn't despawn when scrolled off the screen to the left or right either.
This means, in any level that has a Sumo Bro in it and only a single-tile platform below that Sumo Bro, you can fill all the empty sprite slots with lightning bolts and despawn the sprites for the rest of the level! As we saw here, you can't quite fill every slot, because the Sumo Bro will be taking up at least one of them, but you can fill most of them. It's a big hard to tell exactly with the specialty slots for 1-Ups and Yoshi, but I think you can fill all but one of the normal sprite slots this way.
Anyways, this isn't a glitch explanation video in a series that I've been horribly neglecting, it's a ROM hack romp, but hopefully you enjoyed that little aside. I love showing off stuff like that.
The sub-theme of this episode is project completion. The last 10% of any project is awful, but you gotta do it! It's so much better to have something than it is to have nothing, even if the something isn't as good as that something could ever be... no, no. I'm not getting into a something/nothing rant again. But the point stands, finish your projects and release your creative spark on the world! It's so much better than leaving it on a hard drive to die the slow death of bit rot.
Before I stop ranting, I have to mention our Stiviboy song-of-the-episode of course! The name is "ïŒïŒ ïŒąïŒ©ïŒŽ ć”é " and it includes samples from a SNES game "Utopia". You can find the full track here!

Thanks for stopping by friends, I hope you enjoyed the episode and I will catch you all in the next one! Enjoy your collective weekends!

Difficulty: Normal
Description:
Welcome to my first finished Hack called 'Another Mario World'
This is a Vanilla Hack that i've started working on in Summer 2016, it's a Hack that is pretty similar to the Original Super Mario World, you could say it's like a sequel. but the only thing that isn't that SMWish is that the koopalings are not set up like in SMW, i like to have them in the Newer order, like in NSMB Wii, that means Larry, Roy, Wendy etc.
The only patch i've used is the Asarspritetiles patch
This is an updated Version, i fixed most of the issues that were mentioned in Wakanas 'Featured Hacks' Thread
Have fun with this Hack, i really hope you enjoy it

---[ Squiggy's ROM Hack Romp Series Information ]---------------
Squiggy's ROM Hack Romp is a series on Super Mario World ROM Hacks. In this series, I will play through SMW ROM Hacks that are submitted to me and that I pull off smwcentral.net. I'll always play the submitted ones first though! Ideally, I will use no save states and do full commentary playthroughs.
I am also happy to accept ROM hacks for any other game, or even a game you programmed or somehow created outside of the ROM hacking world. Basically I love amateur user-created gameplay of any type, and even if it isn't a ROM Hack Romp contender, I'd be happy to play anything you've made and put it in another series!
If you are a ROM hacker or enthusiast, let me know if there's anything you'd like me to play. Whether it be one you made yourself or one you'd just like to see, leave me a comment below or send it over to SendMeYourHacks@gmail.com and I'll be sure to get back to you. Thanks for watching friends!
