Long story short: The screens can only be blown up two times for a perfect pixel aspect ratio via Point Resize/Nearest Neighbor. There's also a gap between the screens that the character may pass through, so that is preserved, too. If you have a super critical eye you may notice that diagonal lines do not exactly cross over the gap perfectly, but this is how it appeared on the original system. It would be interesting to calibrate the gap per game, though, in the few that use the gap in any case.
I'll probably also make the background more interesting, like I did with my stream test version:
Bear in mind that that one was resized with a blurring filter so that I could fill the whole screen. This gives it a bit of a smudged look rather than the clarity of this video.
I don't think I'll have to use this set up all too often... But it's an option if necessary!
I'm using a video capture device that has been installed on my DS system to output the video to my computer/TV. I use the TV screen like a "Super GBA/DS" to play on the big screen, and also record at the same time (in a lossless format)! One problem to overcome was how to "blow up" the image without hurting it... because Youtube requires videos to be in 1080p or 720p to played back at 60fps and the DS IS 60fps capable!
