Two best battles Youtube has to offer:

My opponent: http://www.youtube.com/Gargleflop - a great funny brit who uses tons of novelty and just makes battling fun again.
This team... I really can't speak enough about it. During this phase, against guys like TSP, ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlrlP4hPdvo ) Blametruth, Dangerous... I just felt like I was inside my opponents head. I knew what they were thinking and how and why and could manipulate it so well. I FELT immortal. Go back and re-watch the series.
There's so much going on in those old videos that can't be seen in the video or heard in the narration but I watch it and feel the thoughts flowing back into me. To specifically design every single point of EV for exact reasons, and see them come through is just unquantifiable in terms of reward and satisfaction. Every poke on this team has investment in four or five different stats. Oh yeah. And they had to be Bred...
To lead off with a Chople-Empoleon because Ape/Machamp leads were so huge at the time and having Gargle HAPPEN to bring a Machamp is just perfect. To allow the damage taken from common leads like Pert, Aero, and Metagross EQ's put me in to torrent and then respond with a smash using the damage they dished against them, everything works just so well together.
Sunnybeam growth with Solarbeam on Cress? It can't be sleep talked so it's really a 3-move set. Man... those days are so far gone. Stuff like this just doesn't happen now. It can't. Everything is too math'd out and metagamed step by step. There's too many pokemon with too many available items and moves from tutors and events etc etc, there's no way to play but power nowadays. Too many options to find a balance than functions in all scenarios. Moves that hit on the other defensive side... numerous abilities for each poke...
The team was my way of speaking "Oh yeah? Watch this, World." and pulling it off. I look back at it now and wonder "Damn how did I do that? I couldn't do that now." I feel like a lesser human than I was years ago. A lot of my life has been downhill every year since 07.
All I've had is Youtube, and pokes. You guys. You guys inspire me to be something greater than the sum of it's parts and I just try to do my best to honor it. You guys give me my goals and my target and a reason to believe the fight is worth fighting.
Enjoy everyone!
