22 June 1941 - With the start of Operation Barbarossa, armies that stretch from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea are on march against the Bolshevik! We have taken every measure possible to ensure complete secrecy for our invasion; so we should expect the first enemy units we encounter to be totally unprepared and easily swept aside. This will not last idefinitely, so we have to make the most of it while it lasts!

My first mission, before even thinking about other designated objectives, is to disable the Red Air Force. At least a dozen airfields have been spotted in this region alone, and each of them is undoubtedly home to a squadron or more of enemy aircraft. While we will encounter absolutely no initial enemy aircraft, I can be assured that should these airfields remain in Soviet hands for too long, they will fill the skies with their aircraft! To that end, I should capture as many airfields as I can as quickly as I can. Any airfield that is captured before the Soviets go on alert will be one less airfield that can launch their fighters and bombers!

To aid me in this first objective, several Do 217E's have been specifically modified with extra fuel tanks at the cost of their bombs to provide forward reconnaissance for my advancing forces. I can use them to scout ahead to locate safe passages to easily captured airfields. Should I wish to use the Do 217s as bombers, however, I will have to return them to a friendly airfield first to rearm them.

My primary task, however, is to secure the city of Minsk along with as many other objectives as I can secure. If necessary, I have permission to completely bypass the fortified objective at Brest-Litovsk. However it is absolutely imperative that Minsk falls quickly, or our whole timetable will be thrown in chaos!

Difficulty is set to Rommel and we are trying to do a blind run with a historical unit composition. I will explain some advanced tactics and my thougths about different strategic approaches. For explanations on basics and game mechanic I recommend watching my playthrough of the Wehrmacht campaign. Comments and Feedback appreciated!
