70% of the tigers in the world are in India, thanks to community efforts in tiger conservation: PM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi enlightened in Mann Ki Baat that on 29th July the world will celebrate Tiger Day. In India, tigers have always been an integral part of our culture. The PM mentioned about an effort made named, “Kulhadi Bandh Panchayat” in Rajasthan’s Ranthambore. This fascinating initiative involves local communities pledging not to bring axes into the forest or cut down trees. As a result, the forests are regaining their greenery, creating a better environment for tigers. India's tiger population is steadily increasing and 70% of the world's tigers are in India. This significant number highlights the success of various tiger sanctuaries across the country.
