7d2d Day 20 Horde again (ep12)
Good Evening One and All. I am re-running the day 20 Horde night as I had an issue with the last recording and lost the video. Sadly I cannot show you how I went about the base design but I will run through the design process and follow it up by using the debug menu to roll the day back for a Horde night.
The original Horde night went much smoother in regards to zombie pathing, they had no issue navigating the steps and getting to my hatch entryway. The only thing that has changed is that the game updated from alpha 20.3 to 20.4.
I'm not sure if something changed with the zombie pathing, the developers fixed or broke (depending how you look at it) how the zombies navigate the block steps, raised pathway or the 'L' shaped blocks that I point out at the end but the base did not work as intended for the second run through.
For anyone interested in my OBS settings, I normally record at (AMD hardware encoder) High Quality, Medium file size which gives me a 1-1.5 hour recording around 100Gb in size.
When I increased it up to the next level, Indistinguishable Quality, large file size, the remaining 650Gb on my SSD was used up with the 1-1.5 hour recording.
As I record in MP4, the video is not finalised and corrupts.
There are some sites which will attempt to recover an MP4 with this issue but you have to pay for the service and there is no guarantee of what you get in the end.
I opted to just delete the video, go back to the old settings and record a new video.
When money permits I will look at replacing my secondary 2TB M.2 SSD with a larger drive or maybe an external enclosure if it has the performance but for the moment I will have to settle for the video quality I have sorry.
The day 30 Horde night was going to be another scratch made base but I think I will utilise a POI and see if I can make a feasible non-cheese base out of it. I'm going to look for a POI that's a bit different, like the silos or a barn, we'll see what I can find that's close by.
I hope the video was enjoyable and you found something worth your time in watching it.
See you next time, take care.
