Part of recruiting Nitori in Labyrinth of Touhou 1 is "fighting her when she pops up during a random encounter in 7F and 8F" and then fighting her again (for real) on 9F. It's pretty common to run into her on those floors while naturally exploring 7F and 8F (actually that's a lie, you'll be running into Nitori on 7F because you're lost in the godawful teleporter maze).

Fortunately, I kept notes during my last playthrough and I was able to clear out 7F in record time. Unfortunately, I had to stop and actively grind before I could move on to the next floor because I hadn't run into Nitori at all.

This fight probably wasn't worth a full video (I'm not doing a video for the 8F version), but there are some very funny things about both fights I wanted to talk about:

1) You can actually run away from Nitori, since the game treats this as a random encounter and not a boss one.

2) IIRC running away still counts towards her recruitment event.

3) Defeating Nitori on this floor (7F) does give you the Polymer Liquid item. It's not a genuine rare item, but the drop rate for it here is 100%. The item also provides +30% DEF (and if you don't beat Nitori now, you're only guaranteed one other Polymer Liquid on 10F. After that, you'll have to grind for more).

4) Defeating Nitori on 8F gives you Afterimages with Mass. The drop rate is 100%, unfortunately the item is completely useless since it's only effect is increase EVA (and EVA doesn't work in LOT1).
