8BitDo on Atari 7800? Edladdin Seagull 78 Controller Adapter
7A recent controller discussion with my good friend SS from AtariAge alerted me to the fact that an adapter existed for Atari 7800 to plug in Sega Genesis controllers. It might LOOK like you could do this without an adapter since they both have a nine plug pin at the end, but you definitely should NOT do this for two reasons. The first is that the pin out of the plugs is different, so you won't have the buttons to control the 7800 correctly. The second is that the pin out from a Genesis controller has different voltage on different lines, so without a proper adapter you could damage the console (or both). While it seems obvious to use a Genesis controller instead of the regular 7800 stick with this product, I decided to take it a step further and get a new 8BitDo 2.4g controller with the Genesis plug (very handy for both the original Genesis and the Analogue Mega Sg) and play Atari 7800 wirelessly!
