A bit too granular for its own good
In this video I’ll go through my impressions of Children of the Nile. The first historic city building game to be built with a 3D engine, or at least I think it’s the first one, I can’t remember anything being 3D before it, and that’s what it says on the game’s website. I reviewed Pharaoh & Cleopatra in 2019 and previewed the Builders of Egypt Prologue in March of 2020. I jumped into Children of the Nile partially because of Builders of Egypt. Towards the end of that video I mentioned that I have never played Children of the Nile and that I should give it a go in order to have a reference point in terms of a 3D Ancient Egypt city builder, for when Builders of Egypt is released. So I partly played it because of that and partly because it’s another city builder set in Ancient Egypt, which is one of my favorite settings, made by more or less the same people that worked on Pharaoh.
