The Last of us part 2, is undoubtedly one of the best video games ever created. So why will I never play it again?

Upon reflection, I think that it is fair to say, the fact that I do not want to relive the experiences of this narrative is a testament to the outcome that this game so desperately desired its player to feel.

But to some, this outcome, which was so expertly crafted by everyone at naughty dog, is the precise reason why they despise this sequel so much, regardless of whether the outcome was the intention or not.

But why do so many people feel like this? How can a narrative exist that is subjectively awful whilst being objectively as close to perfection as video games have ever gotten in telling a story akin to that of a novel. To understand the thoughts of the audience, it is essential to try and break down what this game was trying to achieve, and more importantly, why.

In doing this. We will be able to see why this game is not just an amazing narrative, but also how this game causes us to reflect on parts of ourselves that so many of us as are not ready to see, and why artistic leaps in storytelling such as this one, are imperative to pushing forward the medium of video games as we know them, and changing the way in which we experience, experiences.
