This is an introduction to the board game A Distant Plain from GMT Games. It's a simulation of the conflict in in Afghanistan using an asymmetrical format. The recent events unfolding in Afghanistan have brought to light a lot of interesting questions about games and how they fit into our world.

This game re-creates the recent History of the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan, so we offer a caveat to our viewers that these are sensitive issue and the subject may be uncomfortable for some, but we do not, in any way, intent to trivialize real life events.
