WHAT'S NEW IN ESCUELAS LINUX 8.7 32-BIT?
Despite being released with the same number as our 64-bit edition, 8.7 represents a significant change in our 32-bit edition, as it has been rebuilt from the ground up: this release is now based on the upcoming Bodhi Linux 7.0 Legacy 32-bit edition, so it is rooted on Debian 12 Bookworm.

It would not be worthwhile to list the updated packages, as they are almost all. By doing a re-base from Debian 11 Bullseye -in which Escuelas Linux 8.6 was formerly based- to our new Debian 12 Bookworm base, most applications received new versions by changing our operating system base.

Escuelas Linux has never been a distribution that only includes packages available in the Debian repositories. We also take care to include a good number of useful applications that are not available in the Debian repositories—including compiling LibreOffice and wxMaxima on our own to always include their latest versions—and we also create custom applications to facilitate the management of our OS in public environments.

Also note that there is no upgrade package from Escuelas Linux 8.6 to 8.7 for the 32-bit edition, so anyone using our previous 32-bit version would need to install Escuelas Linux on the partition where 8.6 or any other previous Escuelas Linux 32-bit version was assigned. Backup your own important files!
