A Frustrated Critique of Tunic
Tunic is unlike any other game I've played in quite awhile. It harkens back to games of the 1980's, and 90's especially in which player guidance wasn't to be taken for granted. Tunic isn't afraid to let you struggle in both exploration and combat. You won't be told where to go, what to do, or where to do it, but you'll be trusted to intuit these things for yourself. It's a game that trusts your intelligence, but also requires a above-average level of dedication to complete it without outside help. This will frustrate some while engross others. Your mindset going into the experience will determine your enjoyment. Patient players, with time, will find a valuable experience; while those more pressed may feel slighted. I found myself somewhere in the middle. Enjoy!
