Highlights and explanations:
11:25 - I had the recipe on the auction house because I wasn't sure what else to do with it. It was never my intention to sell it.
12:37 - The GM basically says they don't have the tools to change the code of the game to allow it to be learned and to submit a suggestion to the developers about making the recipe available to non-Rogues. The more requests, the more the devs will look into it. Hopelessness sets in.
21:24 - He's looking to see what can be done. Hope is returning.
31:09 - He comes back and asks where the recipe is now. He asks specifically in what bag. I have no idea what's about to happen. For some reason I expected the recipe to just disappear in front of me.
33:41 - He asks me to log onto a different character so he can check something out on the recipe.
36:16 - "And with that, we replaced the Thistle Tea Recipe with the newer version so that you can learn it on the Hunter. ^_^"
37:01 - I log on my Hunter and see it has been changed to the BoP green version that's still learnable.

It seems Blizzard isn't even the authority of their own game. While this GM ultimately was the only one to help me with my situation, he was wholly reciting inaccurate information as notes below:

2:05 - This item is only for rogues. It is not able to be bought for Hunters. (The BoP version is for Rogues, the much rarer is BoE meaning any class can learn it.)
6:00 - It has no value for non-rogues. (Technically, yes, but not in the past. When Thistle Tea was an item rogues actually used, other classes could brew it and sell it on the auction house for gold as long as the learned the BoE recipe.)
14:34 - The recipe has been unlearnable for non-rogues since 2008 times. (Not sure where he heard that, but it isn't true.)
17:15 - I even found that non-rogues had the spells removed from their cookbooks around 2011. (I never heard anyone have the spell removed from them before.)
