Merman unboxes the new book from Bitmap Books - A Guide To Japanese Role-Playing Games, written by Kurt Katala of Hardcore Gaming 101.

With over 600 pages and 370,000 words, the story of the JRPG is told with articles on the major companies that specialised in the genre, the influences on music and art, the major series and styles of game. For every game or series there are screenshots and cover artwork.

This Collector's Edition version was limited to 2,000 and has sold out. Included with it are a poster of the cover artwork, a pixel heart USB drive with demos of JRPG-inspired games and a Save Your Progress bookmark.

At the time of recording the Hardback Edition had also sold out. This means that Bitmap Books are awaiting a reprint due in October 2021.
