Howdy folks, my name is retyopko and welcome to the beginning of a new let's play project! The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past was released in 1992 in North America for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System as the third entry in the series. This game is absolutely the watershed moment for The Legend of Zelda, as many of the ideas introduced in this title would carry on throughout future games in the series, evolving and adapting over time for each successive entry. Where the first Legend of Zelda on the Nintendo Entertainment System would lay down the very foundation we can thank the refinement shown in A Link to the Past for showing the path to unlocking the series' full potential.
It is no surprise to me that A Link to the Past is generally listed highly for most people's favourite Zelda games, nearly always cinching the top spot regarding the 2D overhead view titles. Today we will be starting on a journey to discover why I myself have so much love for the game, through the re-experiencing of the very first video game that I had ever played. This game means an immense amount to me for so many reasons, all of which I am hoping to share with you throughout this project. Join me as Link rescues Princess Zelda from near certain doom at the hands of the evil wizard Agahnim, and learns of his quest to retrieve the Master Sword from its rest.
