You submit what you’ll pay for transactions
And compete with other people for space
On each block and that’s a real waste
Miners filter bids to find the highest prices
So gas goes wild with lots of people trying
To get their transactions through
It’s a bad experience, oooo ooo oooo
Which is why way back in 2018
Vitalik Buterin proposed EIP
1559 which has one goal
To make gas fees more predictable
It also has other benefits oh yeah
Increasing capacity when congestion is bad
Block size will essentially double
Hopefully this will fix some of the trouble
Oh it’s not a panacea
And we’re still waiting for 2.0
But as the prices crash around you
