A Look At: Kentucky Route Zero
0Kentucky Route Zero is a Point and Click Adventure game that followers a Truck Driver name 'Conway' and a dog with a straw hat as they travel across the freeway trying to get to a specific destination to make a delivery.
Throughout the game you will come across many different characters at will share stories about there lives and will sometimes ask Conway to help them out with a few things, throughout the conversations there will be moments where you will selected different options of dialog for Conway to say like selecting a name for the dog (no custom name giving though), sometimes you will also select dialog for other characters throughout the game.
Kentucky Route Zero was developed and published by the indie development studio 'Cardboard Computer' with 'Annapurna Interactive' publishing the console versions of the game or "TV Edition" as it's known as. The game was brought into fruition thanks to the backers on its Kickstarter that started back in 2011. The game would release in 5 separate Parts (or Acts) with Act 1 releasing in January 2013 and Act 5 releasing in January 2020. Overall the game received very positive reviews and would later win the BAFTA Reward for Original Property.
Now, Technically Kentucky Route Zero would be under "2013's most popular game" list since that's when the game's first act released. But, considering that the game would released in separate acts originally, when I was doing research for popular games for 2014, Kentucky Route Zero would appear in that list (Act 3 was released in that year I believe). So with that in mind I'm just rolling with it and keeping the game under 2014's list of popular games and moving on to the next game in my list.
