A Look at the Bears Can't Drift Beta on the OUYA
2I enjoy kart racers and figured I'd give this a shot. It's definitely got bears - in fact, the first thing I thought of when I saw this was The Completionist and Greg's glorious BEARS! catchphrase. As a beta, this is fairly feature-lean. The actual racing part is reasonably well-done, but it's kind of a boring affair. A lot of that could just be due to the lack of AI, since competition keeps these kinds of games fun. Beyond that though, the music isn't that good, the graphics are around PS1-level, and the sound of the kart is like an old lawnmower with a weak motor. Fortunately, a lot of that can be overcome with some development time, so hopefully this shapes into a far better game down the road. The drift mechanic works shockingly well - so there's definitely the germ of a good game in here already.
