250Autistic Savant and Blind Pianist #derekparavicini conducts a masterclass in style-switching and improvised harmony with his mentor Adam Ockelford, as they work through some variations on #greensleeves . This is a great example of Derek's perfect pitch and intuitive talent for reharmonizing on the fly.
You can see how Derek is influenced by his knowledge of different pianists but also how he sometimes uses their names not so much as cues to copy their style, but as musical prompts to expand his own ideas (e.g. the improvisation he does after Fats Waller is suggested). Derek's own personal creativity always shines through.
