Derek Gets a Portrait!
82Commissioned by Dame Stephanie "Steve" Shirley, and painted by award winning artist Saied Dai, a double portrait of autistic savant #derekparavicini and his mentor Professor Adam Ockelford was unveiled at the @mallgalleries in London on May 5th, 2022. The painting will be displayed at the University of Roehampton as a tribute to Derek and Adam, their professional contributions, and above all, their friendship.
Derek was on fantastic form at the piano, taking audience requests and playing a piece specially composed by him and Adam in honour of Dame Stephanie Shirley's generosity and support.
Also featured are Derek's fantastic covers of A Picture Paints a Thousand Words and The Black and White Rag!
