Follow Zee, a nonbinary aspiring nurse from rural China, as they seek to build a gender-affirming life in the Midwest. After graduating from nursing school, they work tirelessly to pass their licensure exam in hopes of remaining in the U.S.
In Here, Hopefully, filmmaker Hao Zhou follows a nonbinary nursing student from rural China, as they seek to build a sustainable and gender-affirming life in Iowa City. As Zee approaches graduation, they work to pass their nursing exam in order to remain in the U.S despite the social isolation they face as an international student.
