"A Perfect Getaway" (2009) written and directed by David Twohy is the ultimate red herring film. Most of it's value comes from being surprised from the twists so be sure that you are not spoiled before watching.

Cydney (Milla Jovovich) & Cliff (Steve Zahn) have gone to Hawaii for their honeymoon. The newly weds run into two different couples, one being some hitchhikers and the others being some skinny dippers. They then learn that a couple is wanted near their region for a string of murders, and begin to suspect both couples. The killer(s) are eventually revealed in an epic twist that you will not see coming.

A Perfect Getaway was good fun that kept me intrigued throughout. I am a huge fan of red herring stories so this was right up my alley. While I don't think it reaches the quality of something like "Scream" (1996), it's still very much respectably in it's own right. I have no problem admitting I was thrown off the scent and did not foresee what ends up happening.

I don't have any major gripes with this film I think it's just a tad dated. The editing style is quite cheesy and there is this long extended flashback scene which seemingly never ends. A lot of the characters backgrounds are actually quite irrelevant. I prefer thriller films with a slight edge to them and this one does go down goofy lane unfortunately.

A Perfect Getaway is not a must watch but it is fun and enjoyable and has some pretty hilarious line deliveries: "That was a perfectly good story" + "eBay" being my favorites. What ends up happening is pretty interesting so there is good value there.
