A quick Steam Deck OLED performance test Horizon Zero Dawn Can you play this on Steam Deck?
There is a lot of videos on YT with various games tested on Steam Deck. Most of them present the footage of the screen and how the game looks ON Steam Deck. Some people, however, use their Steam Deck as a desktop PC or a regular console. My tests intend to show how the game looks and performs on an external screen, in full HD (not in 4k for performance reasons) with certain scaling options.
Here is another test, a more demanding one: Horizon Zero Dawn. I was pretty interested in this particular game's performance since its graphics look insane and it is an open world game. And a game that used to be exclusively for consoles (and considered the pinnacle of PS4 capabilities) and then ported (so there might be some performance issues). For the testing, I did not change any graphical settings except for the annoying motion blur, which means that the FPS, the general look and performance are "as is" once you launch the game for the first time on your device. I must admit it looks fantastic on your TV. The footage might seem a bit pixelated in heavy action bits, that's because there was so much happening graphically-wise that my Avermedia simply could not handle it.
The game is marked as "verified" on Steam Deck and works perfectly fine and out-of-the-box.
