The first part of this stage is tolerable enough aside from the AFHB jump, but you still have to be careful and take your time. The obscuring trees make it pretty tough to anticipate when and where enemies will show up, and a lot of the formations seem intentionally designed to (unfairly) punish new players for not knowing the layout. What makes it worse is that it's hard to tell in which direction the lakitu is throwing spinies, due to its high position and the aforementioned trees.
