Whoa, Commander Keen IV music? Now that brings back memories ^_^

As for the secret path here, though...Even if you give players a warning, that side room with the layer 2 rising platforms really doesn't give you much leeway, especially with that kind of muncher placement, and looping around to drag the p-switch back to where you first entered seems like a pointless way to extend the level length. I did like the little key room, though, even if you have to react slightly quickly to the bouncing koopas in front of you.
