A Video I hope I don't have to make a Second time, Anytime soon
This isn't a Goodbye to you viewer, this is a goodbye to my father, Memento Mori.
My dad and I's relationship wasn't always strong. By all technicality he was an abusive parent when I was younger. He allowed alcohol to ruin his life, and it's probably what ended up doing him in.
However, he did make up for it later on in life. Spending time with me, talking to me regularly, and trying to uplift me with his religious values.
I'm not really a fan of AA. But for my father, it was something to cling to.
Like Sisyphus, alcoholism is an uphill battle. Not one to be taken lightly, but also not one to stake your entire spiritual success on.
He was still the only father I'll ever have. And he made up for what he did, in my mind.
He wasn't perfect. But he never gave up. Which is something I admire.
He was buried with his sister and his parents, in Tennessee.
He left behind 5 children.
I wish I knew what else to put here.
But I can't call him for advice.
Next week, something new.
