The base is Ubuntu 20.04.4 , which means better hardware support for different hardware. These include NVIDIA RTX 3050 GPUs, 12th Gen Intel Core processors, Sony PlayStation 5 DualSense controllers, Framework laptops, Apple Magic Mouse 2, as well as other devices. The "dirty pipe" vulnerability recently discovered in the Linux kernel is not yet patched in the delivery state, but will be eliminated via the updates provided.
Zorin OS 16.1 is now available for download in Core, Lite, Education and Education editions . Anyone using Zorin OS 16 Pro will receive the latest version via the download link in the email. Existing version 16 installations are automatically updated to version 16.1 via the update function.
All income currently generated by the Pro Edition is donated to charities such as the Red Cross to help the people of Ukraine.

Zorin OS 16.1 provides a polished experience sought by many Linux enthusiasts. That said, It’s still a modified GNOME with additional items.
The base edition is Zorin OS 16.1 “Core” is free and includes all the essentials.
If you opt for the Pro edition at $39, you also get access to a Pro-lite edition, which will be available to install for old computers.
Compared to “Core”, the “Pro” edition comes with more preinstalled apps and additional desktop layouts to choose from.
If you already use Zorin OS 16, you can upgrade to Zorin OS 16.1 by downloading and installing the latest updates from the Software Updater.
