The Auto Assault-12 is a fully automatic 12 gauge combat shotgun designed in the USA. It was originally intended for police and military because of its light weight, ease of maintenance and accuracy.

It's defining feature is the notable lack of recoil. Having a mere 10% of the normal recoil for a 12 gauge shotgun. The reduction to recoil is much so that the AA-12 has even been successfully integrated with unmanned turrets and drones.

In game, the AA-12 has featured in only two main games so far. In MW2 as a wildly overpowered secondary and in MW3 as part of the generally under-powered shotgun category.

But are they really that different, and is the gun for MW2 actually the better weapon?
